About Gregory

Gregory Camacho is a storyteller shaped by survival and driven by truth. Raised between New York and Puerto Rico, his life has been a journey through family secrets, addiction, gang life, and ultimately redemption. He writes to give voice to the boy he once was—and to remind others that broken beginnings don’t mean broken endings.

“I don’t write because I have all the answers. I write because I finally stopped hiding the questions.”

Split Down The Middle

A Memoir of Survival, Secrets, and Second Chances

Coming Fall 2025

Gregory Camacho was born into a house full of faith—but also silence. Raised between Newburgh, New York and Puerto Rico, his childhood was marked by abandonment, addiction, and betrayal. Sent away at eight years old, he carried questions no child should have to answer. What followed was a descent into gang life, drugs, and a string of near-death moments that almost swallowed him whole.

But this is not just a story of what broke him. It’s the story of what rebuilt him.

Told with raw honesty and unflinching grace, Split Down the Middle traces one man’s journey through trauma, identity, fatherhood, and ultimately, redemption. It’s about the lies we inherit, the wounds we carry, and the truth it takes to heal. For anyone who’s ever felt forgotten, fractured, or far from home—this is a story that says: you are not alone.
